Cancellation & Refund Policy

All cancellations must be emailed to info@greatlake.co.nz.

PLEASE NOTE:  Inclement weather is not a valid reason for cancellation.

The following will apply to all monies paid:

 

Low Season

No refund for cancellations within 14 days of arrival.

Cancellations outside 15 days of arrival will be refunded less bank fee & the administration fee of $30.

 

High Season

No refund for cancellations within 60 days of arrival.

Cancellations outside 60 days of arrival will be refunded less bank fee & the administration fee of $30.

 

Peak Season

No refund.

 

Bookings made are reserved to the person named on the booking and are not transferrable to any other person.  This means that the named person must occupy the unit/cabin/campsite booked for the duration of the booking and is ultimately responsible for all occupants and visitors.

 

Alterations can be made, before your non-refundable cancellation date, subject to availability and management approval, and may require a unit/cabin/campsite change.  An administration fee of $30 will apply.

LATE ARRIVALS

If you arrive and the reception office is closed, we have a Late Arrivals Board just to the right of the Reception Office Door.  On the board, look for the slip with your last name and you will have all the information that you need.

Low Season

1 May – 31 October (excludes statutory weekends & event weekends)

 

High Season

1 November – 19 December (excludes statutory weekends & event weekends) AND

1 February – 30 April (excludes statutory weekends & event weekends)

 

Peak Season

Rates & Payment

Please refer to our online booking system for up-to-date rates.

 

Deposit

A deposit of two night’s stay is required.

Any outstanding balance is payable upon arrival.

No refunds will be issued for late arrival, early departure or reduction in booked numbers.

 

Bank fee

A card fee of 3% is payable on all credit/debit card payments.  No fee on EFTPOS cards.

 

Adults, Children & Infants

Infants are aged from 0 - 1 years old and stay for free.

Children are aged from 2 - 14 years.

Adults are aged 15 years and above.

Check-in Times

Cabins

Check-in from 3pm and check-out at 10am

 

Camp Sites

Check-in from 1pm and check-out at 10am

Campsite & Unit Selection

The allocation of campsites and units is at the discretion of our management, who make adjustments if necessary.  Your requests will be considered but cannot be guaranteed.

Noise & Conduct

No noise between 10pm & 8am.

Only exception to this rule is New Year’s Eve when reasonable noise is permitted until 12:30am to celebrate the occasion.

 

Excessive drinking and parties are strictly forbidden.  All alcohol must be consumed on your site or in your cabin.  Do not wander around with alcohol or it will be confiscated.

 

Management reserve the right to ask you to reduce or stop noise levels at any time, should it be deemed excessive or offensive to other guests.

 

Management reserve the right to charge a minimum of $150 call-out fee to any guest that management and/or staff have been called out to, past the 10pm curfew, due to excessive noise and disruptions of others.

 

Management reserve the right to ask you to leave without a refund should you not conduct yourself in a decent and reasonable manner.

 

Management reserve the right to determine what constitutes excessive noise and disruption based on the impact it has on the overall guest experience.

Damages

Great Lake Holiday Park shall not be liable to the customer, and the customer hereby waives all claims against the Park, for: any injury or damage to any person or property in the Park, or any injury or damage as a result of an act of god in the Park; or any injury or damage as a result of a natural disaster in the Park; or any interruption of electrical service or any other utility service to the Park; or any act or neglect of other guests or occupants or employees in the Park; or any other thing or circumstance whatsoever.

 

All property in the Park belonging to the guest, its visitors or invitees shall be there solely at the risk of guest.

 

In the event of damages, breakages, or if additional cleaning is required, management reserves the right to charge additional costs.

Smoking

No smoking or vaping allowed in units, cabins, main kitchen and bathroom buildings.

Visitors

Visitors must report to the office for security reasons.  Your visitors are your responsibility and must depart by no later than 10pm.  No visitors allowed during peak season.

Parking

Cabins

Cabins have one allocated parking space per booking.

 

Campsites

There are no additional and or separate parking space for your campsite.  You are allocated a campsite, and you need to ensure that everything fits on it.

 

Extra Parking

Should you wish to bring additional vehicles, trailers, boats etc. please contact us before making the booking.  Additional costs may apply.

Electrical WOF & Tent RCD Lead

Vehicles using powered sites must have a current electrical Warrant of Fitness (WOF) & certification.  Tents must have the correct Tent RCD lead.

Electrical Vehicle

The Holiday Park does not have an EV station for you to charge your car. You are however able to charge your hybrid/ electrical vehicle at $15 per day by plugging into our 240V AC charge. This means that your car will need to be on charge overnight.

Make sure you have the appropriate charging cable and adapter that will connect your car to the outlet provided.

Please note a $30 surcharge will apply if found charging without payment.

Dogs

To ensure that everyone gets the best experience, dogs are not permitted during our peak season.  A daily charge of $5 per dog applies.

 

Dog Rules

  • Your dog must be kept on your site and is not allowed in any other area of the park (except to be walked on a lead from your site to the front gate).
  • Your dog must be supervised at all times and never left unattended including inside your tent, caravan or campervan.
  • When outside, your dog must be on a lead at all times and kept within the boundaries of your site.
  • Dog owners are responsible for picking up & disposing of their dog’s waste in a sealed bag in a rubbish bin.
  • Dog owners are responsible for their dog’s behavior and for any & all injuries/and or property damage or losses in relation to any actions caused by or because of their dog.

 

If dogs are a nuisance to other guests, we may ask you to vacate the dog.

 

Regrettably no cats allowed.

NZMCA / Campsaver

We offer NZMCA / Campsaver members discounted rates up to 20% off.  This excludes our peak season, any statutory & events weekends.  Pay normal rates when making your booking online and upon arrival, present your valid NZMCA Membership card, and you will be refunded the difference between the normal rate & NZMCA rate.
